Development of Doping and its prohibition in modern Olympism

Title: Development of doping and its prohibition in modern Olympism. Objectives: The main goal of the thesis is to present issues of doping. Partial goal is to outline the development of the modern Olympic Movement and to identify the principal points in the development of doping ban, which resulted in the current form of the anti-doping movement. Methods: This is a theoretical thesis. The scientific methods of historical research and document analysis were used to achieve the targets. Results: New substances and methods, that can improve athletic performance, are constantly discovered. However in case of excessive use, these substances can harm human body. Therefore it is necessary to guard their abuse. Unfortunately the biggest breakthroughs in doping prohibition came after athlete's deaths (caused by doping). International Olympic Committee played a fundamental role in the process of doping ban. IOC initiated establish of the World Anti-Doping Agency in 1999. The bachelor thesis is focused on the role of the Olympic movement in the international relations and sport diplomacy. The first chapter describes the Olympic movement, its antic roots and its resumption at the end of the 19th century. Second chapter presents sport diplomacy as a part of public diplomacy in connection with organizing the Olympic Games. In the last chapter examples of Games in Berlin and Beijing are given which served for profit of the hosting country.

Title: The analysis of the issue of hosting the Olympic Games. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to describe the functioning of the Olympic Movement, the development of the Olympic Games size, the development of the Olympic Marketing, the bidding process for the Games and to examine this reality in light of the problems each subject creates. Identify positive and negative aspects of the Olympic Games through SWOT analysis. Furthermore, this thesis aims to determine how the Olympic Agenda 2020 is changing the function of the Olympic Movement, the Olympic Games and how it contributes to the future sustainability of games. Used methods: This thesis is a theoretical paper that has a descriptive and analytical nature, so the main method used is an analysis and study of documents, literature and web sources. The information was analyzed and comprehensively processed. Results: Identified problems can be summarized in these points: Decreased interest in bidding for the Olympics due to non existing government guarantees, rejection of Olympics from residents, negative perception of gigantism. Hosting the Olympics is historically linked with cost overruns, for the Summer Games of 230%, for the Winter Games of 94%. China is expected to become the sport epicenter. Olympic Broadcast Rights

Title: Olympic Broadcast Rights Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to analyse the revenue derived from the sale of the broadcasting rights to the Olympics by Olympic Movement. In the thesis are analysed the total sum of revenue, selected territory and compared the proportion that belongs to the International Olympic Committee and the Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games. The secondary objective is to adapt and calculation of the conversion mechanism for the transfer of amounts reported in different currencies in different periods. Methods: Data collection is performed a secondary analysis of documents. The basic aggregate consist of the Summer Olympic Game held 1960 - 2012. The observed variables are: total revenue from broadcasting rights, revenue from broadcasting rights from Europe, the revenue from broadcasting rights from the U.S., revenue from broadcasting rights in Canada, revenue from broadcasting rights from Australia, revenue from broadcasting rights from Japan, the revenue from broadcasting rights in others countries, the number of hours produced from OH, the percentage distribution of revenues from broadcasting rights in the Olympic Movement.
